  • If you have surfed on the internet for any appreciable amount of time, then you most likely have come across some make money from home ads that are definitely eye-catching. They carry phrases such as “Make Thousands of Dollars Working From Home” or “Earn $5000 for Fifteen Minutes Of Work A Day”. These ads, to say the least, are enticing to most of us who are always looking for ways to improve the financial condition of our lives.

No matter who you business with, be absolutely sure that you are dealing with someone of integrity. Don’t simply look for intelligence and ambition, but for good moral character.     Everyone can agree that there are thousands of ways to start a work at home business. Unfortunately most of these ways require a full-time commitment and a leap of faith. This usually eliminates 95% of the people who would like to make money from home but don’t have the time, money, or resources to make something like that fly.

    Of course with the advent of the Internet we have been exposed to many new possibilities that do not require a full time commitment or a lot of money. Here are just a few examples of how people are making money from home these days:

    Affiliate Marketing

    Google Adsense

    Private Label Products

    Network Marketing

    Niche Marketing

    Direct Sales

    Etc.

    While all of these are viable options, I personally endorse network marketing for a few meaningful reasons. First off, it’s a residual income business meaning that if you do the work once you can get paid on it for years to come. Second, it’s a people helping people business and I’ve been able to meet some of the greatest people thanks to network marketing. Third, it’s an easy business that anyone can get started with regardless of past experience or current situation.

    With that said please understand that all network marketing companies are not created equal and there are many out there that aren’t much more than fly-by-night operations posing as legitimate network marketing opportunities. If you choose to go network marketing stay away from “pre-launch” opportunities and companies that only offer an opportunity without a real product to back it up.

    Whatever avenue you choose make sure it makes sense to you. Nobody has ever been successful with something they didn’t believe in so make sure the home business you pursue is something you are passionate about.

    #2 – Uncover the finances involved with your new venture.

    Every business will be a bit different in costs but one thing is universal. Your start up costs is not the only thing you need to factor in when looking at how you’re going to finance your new venture. Besides start up costs you are also going to have the costs of doing business and marketing / advertising costs.

    Here is a breakdown of the different costs you need to account for:

    Start up costs: Your start up costs is how much money it takes you to get the ball rolling with your new venture. Any type of work at home business is going to have some kind of upfront money needed to simply get the material in place to open up shop.

    Costs of doing business: Your costs of doing business are going to be the money that is needed to keep your day to day operations functional. For most home businesses this is simply a phone line, an internet connection, office supplies, book keeping, monthly fees, and product inventory. Another reason I like network marketing is because it greatly reduces your costs of doing business.

    Marketing / Advertising costs: For some reason this is the one cost that everyone forgets to factor into the equation. Here is the bottom line, without marketing or advertising nobody will be exposed to your business meaning it can’t grow. Some things in business will never change and this is one of them. However, the good thing about a home business is that if your smart (or have a smart mentor or coach) you can market your business without spending very much money.

    Okay, so now that we established the three different business costs you can come up with a game plan on the finances your going to need to make your new business fly.

    #3 – Use tools but don’t take the relationship factor out of your business.

    Isn’t modern technology wonderful? We now have so many great tools at our disposal that cost us next to nothing. Unfortunately this modern technology has also been the downfall to many entrepreneurs who didn’t know how to use it correctly. While technology does make a home business owner’s life easier it is not a replacement for building relationships.

    I’ve ran into hundreds of home business owners (not profitable ones) who hide behind the screen of their computer and wouldn’t come out to actively build their home business. They never wanted to talk to anyone, help anyone, or be publicly proud about what they were doing and who they were helping. Just imagine if you went down to the local tire shop and nobody wanted to answer your questions, give you recommendations, or guide you through the sales process. Do you think that tire shop would make any money or have any customers? Of course they wouldn’t!

    The same rule applies for Internet / work at home businesses. You need to build relationships if you want to be successful.

    #4 – Dedicate both time and resources to grow your budding venture.

    Want to know the biggest obstacle home business owners face? It’s treating the business like a real business and not like a hobby. Of course this isn’t how it starts out to be but a few weeks after your business has been officially started is when some “hobby mentality” will try and creep in. Pretty soon your business is getting absolutely no attention and you are there wondering why it isn’t working.

    The truth is that you will only get out of your business what you put in and if you are not actively doing things on a daily basis to grow your business than who is? Nobody! If nobody is doing any work then it’s only obvious that the business can’t become profitable.

    I call this having a hobby mentality because most people treat their hobbies as something that is on the back of their mind and they get to it when time permits. If you attack your work at home business like this or you will not achieve success.

    #5 – Always set goals and work towards them.

    The final thing you must do to achieve work at home business profits is make sure that you are constantly setting goals and achieving those goals. Goals serve as your road map and keep you focused on the business at hand. Without goals you will find yourself drifting away from your home business and not staying on track to put profits in your pocket. You should have daily, monthly, and yearly goals.

    Daily Goals: If you can set out to make a positive difference in your work at home business everyday than pretty much nothing can hold you back. Every night before you go to bed, get on your laptop or pull out a notebook and write down your goals for the next day. Daily goals should be simple but big enough to make a difference in your business.

    Monthly Goals: Each month you should evaluate where you stand in your business. Make it a goal to be progressing every month. If you are doing this, not only will it keep your spirits high, but also assure you that you are on the right path. If for some reason you do experience a drop (that does happen) don’t get discouraged and let it motivate you to do even better the next month.

    Yearly Goals: The great thing about a home business and network marketing is the fact that you can see results much faster than a traditional business model. While traditional business models usually require 5 years before a profit is reached, someone working a network marketing business hard could be a multi-millionaire by then.

    The first yearly goal you want to make when you get started is that you will work your business for at least 12 straight months before you decide to press on or give up. Since most people quit before they get started (2 to 3 months), this goal will stop you from making the same mistake and actually give yourself a realistic chance to succeed.

    In closing, I hope this short lesson serves as a guide to go out and find your own profitable work at home business. Don’t take shortcuts, steer clear of the “to good to be true” opportunities, and take personal responsibility to make yourself successful when you find the right home business.

    Remember that there are only two factors that can make a home business a success or a failure, the business itself or the person working it. So get out there, find something that fits you and then make a promise to yourself that you will be the reason it succeeds.

    The key to not fail in mlm, network marketing, internet marketing, or home business opportunities; is to implement a franchise system with a proven marketing strategy that works. Sort of like Mc Donald’s, the casinos in Las Vegas, movie theaters, and others.

    For intance, do you think Mc Donald’s is in the hamburger business? How about Las Vegas’ casinos? They advertise, “what happens in Vegas stays in vegas.” Movie theaters, Do you think they could stay in business by merely selling admission tickets?

    Let me tell you why Mc Donald’s can afford to sell a burger for a $1 dollar. Because it knows that when you buy that extra slice of cheese, fries, and soda, it will make a huge profit margin on them.

    Las Vegas casinos lure you with their entertainment advertising, but they don’t tell you that they want you to lose all your money in gambling which is where the real money is made.

    The same with movie theaters, you take your family to watch a movie, and you easily spend $40 bucks in popcorn, sodas, and candies, not including the admission tickets!

    Do you see what is going on here? Do you see the marketing strategy at work? If these businesses did not a have a game plan, they would go out of business or they would have a hard time staying in business.

    The question that must be popping in your mind by now is, what does that have to do with my mlm, network marketing, internet marketing, or home business opportunity? It has a lot to do with it, if not all of it! The strategy is based on the ABC business model. Once you understand it and apply it to your mlm business, network marketing business,internet marketing business, or home business opportunity__viola! Your business will explode!

    What is this ABC business model, and why is it vital to your, mlm business, network marketing business, internet marketing business, or home business opportunity? Let’s just say that part A, part B, and part C, all three parts compliment each other.

    Part A is the most important of the three parts, yet most people only use part B and C. Especially if you are advertising your business on a shoe string budget! Do you see now why people fail in business? Can your mlm business, network marketing business, internet marketing business, or home business opportunity survive on parts B and C only? Sure it can, but it will cost you a fortune in advertising, and I guarantee it!

    Part A is designed to help you fund your advertising, and generate prospects for your business.

    Part B is designed to put quick cash in your pocket to pay bills or to invest to further grow your business, and part C is your long-term residual income.

    How does part A help you fund your advertising so you don’t run out of money? Simple. Sell a low cost high volume item that is closely related to your mlm business, network marketing business, internet marketing business, or home business opportunity. Something easy to sell whether you are an expert or not. It could be a nutrition product, a service, or an affiliate program, but it has to be closely related to your mlm business, network marketing business, internet marketing business, or home business opportunity. The reason for doing that, is that it is a lot easier to sell $500 dollars in retail products than it is in building a $500 residual income, do you follow?

    Just to give you a perfect example, as a network marketer, would you buy a business that is worth $1,000 to $2,000 dollars without thinking about it,or would you be more inclined to buy an inexpensive book that shows you how to be successfull with that business? If you are like me, you would buy the book and educate yourself first. A book like this would be a retail product that sells easily.

    By implementing Part A which will lead to Part B and then to part C, your mlm business, network marketing business, internet marketing business, or home business opportunity will always be up and running, and no longer worried about running out of advertising funds.

    Part B in mlm business, network marketing business, internet marketing business, or home business opportunities comes in the form of fast start bonuses aka “bread and butter.” As you continue to implement part A it will not only fund your advertising campaings, but also will generate endless prospects for your business. Remember, Part A has to be closely related to your main business.

    Do you see now why part A is so vital for your business?

    When you do your advertising, vary your advertising. Do not rely solely on one form of advertising. My wise friend Mario said, “a table can not stand on one leg, (a conventional table) and neither will your mlm business, network marketing business, internet marketing business, or home business opportunity be able survive on one form of advertising alone.

    Apply this ABC business model in your mlm business, network marketing business, internet marketing business, or home business opportunity and you will never ever have to worry about running out of money,or failing in this industry again.

  • There is nothing more exciting to be than to have the opportunity to speak at training events around the country and see large numbers of distributors who are 30 and under in the crowd!

    Personally, I was fortunate enough to find and get involved in the network marketing industry at the age of twenty. I feel like I understand the emotions, aggravations and frustrations that young people go through in our industry.

    You must understand that your age doesn’t have as much to do with the aggravations and you think it does. The #1 frustration ALL network marketers go through is not being able to get people to do, that which we want them to do!

    The number one doubt facing young people is; will it ever happen for me? Am I wasting my time? Are there other things I should be doing with my life and spending my time on?

    You have to understand, if you are willing to do what is necessary, namely get through the numbers, IT WILL HAPPEN FOR YOU! You must be willing to prospect on a daily and weekly basis and you must master how to create leads within your local area.

    The name of the game is sorting through people. Armatures try to convince, professionals sort. You are simply looking for the right people, at the right time in their life! The more prospects you go through on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, the more people you will find at the right time in their life to get involved with your business.

    Age doesn’t matter, it is all about timing. The right people will look past your age and to the opportunity! Please re-read that statement The RIGHT PEOPLE, will look past your age and to the opportunity! Over the past 25 years I have heard hundreds of testimonies from successful network marketers in dozens of companies that go something like this……….

    -The kid use to work for me, now he was driving a Viper, I had to see what he was doing

    -The girl use to go to school with my daughter and five years out of high school she is buying a new home in my neighborhood. I heard she was paying cash for it and I still had a mortgage, naturally I had to find out what she was doing.

    -I was coming home from another long week on the road, when I met this young man in the airport on his way to the Super Bowl. When I asked what he did, he said he didn’t have a job! Your darn right I was going to watch the DVD he gave me.

    And on and on and on.

    I believe that when a young person becomes successful, it is easier to do the business and attract people. Your age can become your biggest asset, the number one thing that draws corporate burnt out 40 something’s to your organization.

    So don’t play with the business, if you are going to do it. Do it as quickly as possible and get it over with. Success is numbers. Become a master at getting though the numbers and success is GUARNATEED!

    Yes, I said guaranteed! One of the turn arounds for me was when I realized I couldn’t fail. Jim Rohn taught me though audio, that the LAW OF AVERAGES would work for anyone, including me. When I made up my mind that I was willing to go through the numbers to reach my goals, everything changed.

    I always knew this intellectually, but I never got it grounded in my heart and soul until I heard Jim Rohn. Years later I had Mr. Rohn come and speak for our organization and share his LAW OF AVERAGES & 3 BASIC LAWS TRAINING, It was awesome!     A WORD OF WARNING! I believe that single minded focus is one of the most important factors of success. In today’s world there are more distractions than ever before. Everyday your inbox is full of the latest and greatest opportunities. As a young person you have grown up with constant mental stimulation from video games, ipods, educational CD ROMs, and the list goes on and on.

    So find an upline mentor that knows what they are doing and master their system. If you are not fortunate enough to have a great upline mentor, hire a coach with a PROVEN TRACK RECORD, it will be the best money you ever invest and cut years off of your training curve.

    You have to get focused and stay focused. You must be talking to NEW prospects daily, weekly and monthly. You can not get wrapped up in who buys, who doesn’t buy, who joins or who doesn’t join! The Law of Average and Timing will take care of that. You just have to focus on keeping your funnel full of fresh new prospects.
