For many network marketers their business is like a religion to them. They like to argue about what company is the best, about what product is the best and about what compensation plan is the best. The truth is that there is no one perfect company, there are many. And what appeals to you won’t appeal to everyone.

You have to look at it as a business and you have to do whatever it takes to get things done. You have to cultivate relationships, talk to people daily and be enthusiastic about your product.

My sponsor doesn’t help. Generally speaking sponsors that get into network marketing only know how to bring people into the business. They do not know what to do with them after they are in. There is also the myth that you should give up on someone who is not producing.

The Challenge For Network Marketers

 

The challenge for network marketers is they have to rethink what they are doing. You have to have the attitude that this is a business and that you can benefit from it if you do the business. Once other people join you, there must be time for you to teach them how to do the business.

Although we want to believe that everyone who comes in really wants to be in business for themselves but the truth is only a small portion of individuals want a business. The rest will continue to look for something they cannot find.

I teach university level business and marketing classes, and I have over 15 years of small business experience. Those don’t sound like great odds to me, especially after you work 12-15 hour days, put in your life savings, and get very little out of it but debt.

I like network marketing because it doesn’t just reward the rich. The costs are much less to get into, and anyone who works hard enough can make it, with the right company and product. I also like the fact that in MLM you are part of a team, all working together to help each other succeed individually.

But you do need to work at it. Network marketing is not a get rich quick scheme. It is a home based business that you need to commit to and work at. And like all sales, the better attitude you have, the better you will do.
