  • If you are a network marketer, you may be asking yourself – What do I look for when searching for a home business training program to blow the socks off my competition?

What absolutely amazes me is that many people buy a MLM home business with the idea of becoming rich and successful without knowing anything about the industry. Therefore it makes sense that if you want to be a successful network marketer you would need to be taught how to do it? Does a person decide to be a doctor and just do it, no they receive 6 years of medical training, does a number one tennis player decide to be successful, no they need lots of coaching and training.

So it seems that to be successful in your chosen field you require some sort of coaching and training. However many network marketers actually lack any marketing training and common techniques like making a list of your warm market, the 3-foot rule, etc flat out don’t work for most people. This would explain the documented over 90% failure rate in this industry.

The majority of people get involved with network marketing companies because they’re told how easy it is to accumulate huge wealth from home in their pajamas. I’ll be the first to tell anyone that growing a business from home is far from easy, but it is simple with the right training and applying proper marketing principles.

So the goal is to find the right training program to be truly successful. There is lots of training offered for network marketers including personal coaching, self-development courses, conference calls, mentoring etc. But to truly master the art and science of network marketing ongoing support and education is necessary.

So what do you look for in a home business training program?-

    · A training program that is provided by expert, successful network marketers . Surrounding yourself with others who have become that which you chose to be, is the key.

    · A training program that teaches techniques that are tested and proven to work

    · A program that provides a live training environment so you are open to ask questions

    · A program that provides a mastermind group. Napoleon Hill interviewed 500 of the “richest” people in the world when he wrote, “Think and Grow Rich”. All 500 had ONE thing in common: Every one of them worked with a “Mastermind” group. Participating in a mastermind group has proven to be an integral part of my success in MLM.

    · A training program that you can attend without leaving your home

    · A training program that provides a money back guarantee if not successful

    · A training program that provides prospecting and closing scripts for you to use and adapt

    · A training program that provides ongoing support to guide you step by step.

    · A training program that covers the major topics of prospecting and closing and how to master all forms of communication, the telephone, the written word, the internet

    · A training program that continues once you have paid to join, so you can continue to learn. So once the training cycle is completed you can continue to have access to every training cycle. Lets face it if you pay good money for training you want it to last, not just a 2 day, 2week or even 12 month course and your finished and on your own.

A successful training program which provides all of these aspects is limited to only a select few. • It is estimated that 1,000,000 people a day are looking to find a home based business and people are joining businesses of all kinds in staggering numbers, yet the failure rate is still 96%. MLM’s and network marketing companies are popping up everywhere, too many to even keep track of. The business model of many works in a big way, and based on experience, the earnings can be substantial.

No matter what I do, it just isn’t working, some gurus are succeeding like crazy, or so they say, is it all a scam and should I just cut my losses and quit?

With all of the information on home based businesses available, why are so many still failing? Is it that the business model only works for the companies themselves. Is the information and training just that bad? Are people just lazy or think just because they signed up, money will just begin to flow in?

One of the main reasons people fail in MLM’s and network marketing companies, even if the business they join is a solid company with a good commission structure is this: They really have no proper education in the art and science of marketing or how to actually run a business. Individuals join based on a desire to make money and a way out of their present situation, to better themselves, nothing wrong with that, in fact I applaud it, as I took the same path. I myself however after several years of hard work and dedication had dismal results.

One thing I began to notice in watching and listening to the experts, big names, gurus etc., was that there seemed to be a common theme to their success, that common theme was education. They all talked about it, Perry Marshall who many know about, the Google guy, talked about it a lot. He said his Amazon bill alone was usually $300.00 a month. In the back of my mind I knew he was right. I began to read and study everything I could get my hands on and little by little things began to improve. I knew the business model of MLM and network marketing was valid, after reading things by people like Donald Trump, Robert Kiosaki, and Bill Gates, all stating that if they had it to do over, they would have chosen the MLM or network marketing business model to raise cash flow for their business ventures.

Another valuable thing I learned was that for all MLM’s and Network marketing companies, they all worked on the same principle, they know that the average distributor will ring in 2.5 reps, continue to use the product for 3-6 months and quit, and they are good with that. It’s a business model that works for them.

Let me guess, you joined your new home based business or MLM and your up line tried to do some or all of the following:

Make a list of family and friends

Buy a bunch of training materials, CD’s, brochures, DVD’s etc

    Host home parties

Do 3 way calls with your up line

Drive all over town to meetings

    Buy duplicatable corporate websites

Post ads on all the free Internet sites you can

    Find and join traffic exchanges

    Find and jon safelists

It just isn’t really working is it? The reason that the few successful home based business owners and network marketers are successful is that that they take the time and often times the expense necessary to educate themselves in the art and science of marketing. Many of these effective principles have been around for a long time, some of the best marketing books, and ads for that matter were written back in the 1940’s and 1950’s.

A person has to understand the psychology of the basic marketing process and the elements within the marketing process , things like intro, offer, value, benefit(s), close. You also need to understand how to effectively communicate with people. If you’re working on the Internet, you need to learn to write effective ad copy, or hire a copywriter and properly construct either a data capture page and/or website, and then learn to drive traffic to that site.

A lot of this has to do with positioning yourself as the expert, not your up line. People want to deal with someone who knows what they are doing. Running a successful business of any kind requires a skill set is the bottom line. It also requires, commitment and organization. Proper mindset is also a key factor along with realistic goals and expectations. Knowing what I know now, I would have sought out the education first, then looked for a business to join.

Do yourself a big favor, if you are considering starting a home based business, or joining an MLM or network marketing company, know what you are getting into. If you determine this is what you want to do, educate yourself by developing a proper skill set, an ongoing process by the way, and be sure you are willing to follow through with commitment. The last piece of advice I can offer, and this is another big one, choose a product or service you are passionate about yourself, it will help you through some of the tough times.

  • Network marketing has enabled more people to become independently wealthy, home based business owners than any other industry; it is truly an equal opportunity business model. Anybody can succeed in network marketing regardless of age, race, religious belief, educational background, hair color or whatever other “obstacle” you think might exist.

But sadly, even though anybody CAN succeed in network marketing, only 5% of those who get involved actually do. The biggest reason why most people struggle and fail in this industry is because they lack practical business skills. When a lack of skills exists, starting a business becomes a leap of faith. And, overwhelmingly, a leap of faith will almost always end in a crash.

It kills me to see so many well intentioned, hard working people fail when it just doesn’t have to be that way. If only people would get started in business the right way, they’d be giving themselves a huge advantage to achieve the success they so desire. Every business owner will learn and get better as they go. But, when just starting out, it is so crucially important to understand a few key principles up front.

The beginning stages of building a business will set the tempo for your success. The failure rate in network marketing is so high because the frustration and struggle at the beginning will cause many to quit long before they’ve allowed themselves an honest attempt at success.

So, having said that, let’s take a look at the 7 biggest mistakes made by 99% of those who start a network marketing business. And, how you can be assured of getting started the right way.

    Biggest mistake #1-

Network marketing is a serious business. Or, to put it another way, it will only be as serious a business as you make of it. If you treat it as the serious business that it is, you will be giving yourself a huge advantage in becoming successful. If you treat it like a hobby or anything less than a serious business, I can assure you it will lead to frustrations, lost time and lost money.

    Biggest mistake #2-

There are four business sectors that all network marketing companies will fit into. Clearly understanding each of these sectors, and understanding the potential risks and rewards of each, will provide a great deal of clarity on choosing the one that’s best suited to you. For example, do you have the propensity for risk found in the emerging market sector or, would you feel more comfortable operating a business in the proven sector? Once you understand the differences between all four, you’ll know a lot more than most other people who get started in network marketing.

    Biggest mistake #3-

All businesses are started and grown by entrepreneurs. To succeed in multi level marketing, you have to have the mindset of an entrepreneur. You cannot bring an employee mind set or attitude into your own business and expect to succeed. An employee expects to trade time for dollars whereas a real business owner expects to build a passive income stream.

    Biggest mistake #4-

Are you able to work well with others? Network marketing is first and foremost a people business. To be successful, one must enjoy working with others. Working with people also means dealing with people; differing personalities, differing cultures and often times vastly different geographical locations are just a few of the challenges you’ll face.

    Biggest mistake #5-

The person under whom you start your business is known as your sponsor. A more apt title for this person may very well be your business partner. This is the person who, at least at the beginning, will be instrumental in your business building efforts. They will – or should – provide you with the leadership and guidance you’ll need to build a business organization of your own. How carefully have you chosen your sponsor to make sure they are the right person to help you reach your goals?

    Biggest mistake #6-

In order to become successful in network marketing, you’ll need to build an organization of your own. The people you’ll be brining into your organization will need your guidance and leadership in building their own business. Translation: you’ll be giving these folks your time. Do not give your time away freely to just anyone. Time is your most precious asset and you’ll want to give that time to serious business builders only. If you get into a habit of sponsoring just anyone with a pulse, you’re going to be squandering a lot of your most precious asset.

    Biggest mistake #7-

The biggest reason why network marketing has such a high rate of failure is because people are too willing to give up when the going gets tough. Ask anyone who has become successful in business and they’ll tell you that the biggest reason for their success was their ability to weather the tough times. I don’t care what business it is you choose to pursue, if you throw in the towel at the first sign of difficulty, you’ll be forever mired in mediocrity. Don’t give up. Don’t ever, ever give up.

Multi level marketing is a business model that a countless number of people have used to achieve financial freedom. It is a model that anyone can take advantage of to reach their dreams. It’s saddening to see so many people with good intentions fail in network marketing when all they needed for success was the right knowledge. I hope that this article has provided you with a bit of the knowledge you’ll need to accomplish great things in a network marketing business of your own.

  • Network Marketing is sometimes called Multi-Level Marketing. By definition Network Marketing is defined this way. It is a business-distribution model that allows a parent company to market its products directly to consumers by means of relationship referrals and direct selling.

For years there has been a negative stigma attached to this type of business model. The reason for this is because of the usual bad apples that arise when new things are introduced.

However if you think about it Network Marketing is nothing more than an arrangement similar to franchising, where royalties are paid from the sales of individual franchise operations to the franchisor as well as to an area or region manager. Commissions are paid to multi-level marketing distributors according to the company’s compensation plan. There can be multiple levels of people receiving royalties from one person’s sales.

This arrangement is very prevelant via some large companies. Companies that franchise are restaurants, real estate companies, car dealerships and many more.

The best companies are the ones that have a low barrier to entry. What this means is that, unlike the ones above, it is not costly to get involved and the marketing and marketing ideas have already been created and ready to duplicate.

Many people get involved and many people fail. The reason people fail is usually one. They quit! Let’s look at an example of how this can be lucrative if worked, even partime.

For the purposes of example, let’s say that your failure rate is 80%. I know that sounds high but it is not uncommon. Getting involved in businesses like this take time and the most important consideration is to not quit!

That said, Let’s say your organization has only 10 people. All of you are committed to show your product via video or website to at least 3 people every day. This is not too hard to do via websites, articles, email etc.

Making Money online is very confusing. So much information to discern. Understanding the concept of building a downline or network is difficult. .

Let’s look at some numbers: If all 10 of you show your product in some fashion to 3 people a day that is 30 new prospects each and every day. With some thought, imagine how little time it actually takes to target just 3 people a day. 30 new prospects a day over the course of a year is 10,950 exposures to your product.

Even with a high 80% rate of failure, your 10 person team could generate 2190 new members of your network and that;s if NONE of the new members of your network ever did anything. However, they will do something if the method you teach them can be duplicated.

This would mean over 2000 network members in your 2nd level alone. Now consider you join a top notch program that allows you to recruit up to 5 levels deep. Recommended!!

Your big money comes on layers 3-4 and 5 when those network partners duplicate your efforts. Just think, in time you could have thousands of partners. The key is finding where you fit, making sure it is inexpensive to start, making a decision and not quitting!
